Cerro EMS is proud to be exhibiting and speaking at this year’s IGEM annual conference. The focus on the Cerro EMS stand is their new, unique and fully compliant Electrically Insulated Emergency Control Valve (EIV).

The EIV solves a thirty year old issue with its integral insulating feature providing unrivalled safety controls that guarantee protection for home owners and GDNs whilst enhancing safety for GDN engineers during installation.

Key benefits include

  • Unique electrical isolation technology – Unlike traditional valves the integrated safety controls significantly reduce the risk of human error during installation.
  • All-in-One design – Requires fewer fittings than conventional installation methods reducing disruption, installation time and cost.

The story started in 2012 when the National Grid Procurement team, supported by the Best Practice team, approached Cerro EMS to develop a solution that would reduce the risk of non-compliance and guarantee protection to the home owner and GDN. The EIV went from concept to creation within 6 months complying with every gas and building regulation along the way. Following extensive field trials the EIV was approved by National Grid in July 2013.
