Having the ability to hot forge pieces from a few grammes to 5 kilos relies on Cerro EMS having a variety of forging equipment.
Across the organisation we have forging presses ranging from 100t to 1800t. Dependant on the complexity of the part and the quantity requested Cerro EMS will probably have the forging press for the job.
Included in our portfolio is our latest Hydromec press which can forge parts at a rate of 2000 forging strokes per hour, and with the possibility of producing 4 parts per stroke.
Additionally there are a variety of automated and semi-automated
forging presses. These accommodate the higher volume
products required. Other presses available include crank,
vice and friction presses for the smaller volume parts.
Our presses are capable of forging aluminium, copper, brass and variants of all three. Of course one of the big advantages of forging aluminium and brass is that the forgings do not suffer from porosity.
The ability to produce a forging close to the final shape, provides the probability of allowing the finishing equipment to enable the lowest final cost for the product
